Lighthouses & Seascapes

For a number of years, most of my paintings were of lighthouses that I had visited in New England and Canada’s Maritime Provinces, as well as on Long Island. A few of my favorites are displayed in this section.

Rockland Breadwater Light

Rockland Breakwater Light
3 7/8" x 10"
Liquitex® Acrylic on Gessobord™
Private Collection

Located in Rockland, ME, the breakwater and the original lighthouse were built in 1888. The lighthouse was rebuilt in 1902 and consists of a 25' tower set on the roof of the keeper's house. I took this photo while on an art cruise on the three-masted schooner, Victory Chimes; the waves in the foreground are from the ship's bow.
